OUR CONDUCTOR

 

 

Karen Ertboelle Madsen works as the choir conductor from January 2008, where she took over from Martin Granau. Karen is a 4th year student of music teaching at the Royal Danish Conservatory in Copenhagen with choir conducting as her principal subject.

 

Her teachers are Brian Gronbaek, Michael Bojesen and Alice Granum. Previously she has trained childrens’ choirs and rhythmic choirs, but has finally decided to concentrate on classical choir music with her two choirs.

 

She  covers a wide period of the music history from the Renaissance to contemporary compositions, with an inclination to Danish composers such as Niels la Cour, Bo Holten, Michael Bojesen a.o.

 

Karen has personally taken part in performances of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Berlioz’ Requiem, Brahms’ German Requiem, and Handel’s Messiah.
